No. 7 already happened in India. There is a Corp travel co started my ex-McKinsey folks (Itilite) which did it. The savings were passed in the form of incentive in salaries.
Nope, unfortunately. They realised eventually that the people who spend the most amount in travel (usually CXOs & 1 level down) don’t have any incentive to save money. They chose comfort over saving because for them optimising their comfort & thus performance is more important.
They also are someone who usually might end up booking last minute with no approvals required. The savings at below level didn’t eventually incentivise the change of behaviour enough.
Wow lots of thought gone in to these, very impressive. Subscription services haven’t really hit travel like they have other industries yet so I’m interested to see if they do. It seems like some other industries are moving away from subscription so perhaps travel has missed the opportunity
I learned more about travel in this post than the rest of the year!
Great predictions!

Did the "reaching $100 million in employee payouts" also happen?

"#4 An Asian travel company will acquire a European OTA with >€2 billion market cap." is super interesting!
Why would eDreams/Etraveli sell to eg Ctrip?
A post on the dynamics between the major OTAs would be really, really interesting...
#19 - going fully Agentic with AI Agents 🤯
No 18 already exists! It’s called Travel Counsellors! . https://travelweekly.co.uk/news/tour-operators/travel-counsellors-confirms-aim-to-double-turnover-within-five-or-six-years
Very interesting, I certainly see some of this happening in 2025. 😃
Sounds far fetched on the surface, but I expect you will have a high probability for some of your predictions.
